HATE ETERNAL Parts Ways With Drummer
Reposted from Blabbermouth.net
HATE ETERNAL drummer Jade Simonetto has left the band to further his education and post-music career.
Comments Simonetto in a statement: “Being a part of HATE ETERNAL has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and parting ways is, by far, the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do.
“Erik [Rutan, vocals/guitar] and JJ [Hrubovcak, bass/backing vocals] are older brothers to me and have always looked out for my best interests. Knowing I won’t be touring and jamming with those guys is a hard pill to swallow, but I’m choosing to pursue my education and establish myself career-wise.
“I’ll miss the world of diehard metalheads who come out to shows and support this great thing we all love.
“I wish Erik and JJ all the success in the world personally and professionally and have no doubt that Erik will discover some monster drummer we haven’t yet heard of. It’s what he does!”
Adds Rutan: “It’s been a great road traveled with Jade as a part of the band for six years, two very special albums and many, many tours across the world. Some of the best times and experiences in my life and career have been with Jade in the band. Jade is like a brother to JJ and I, and we are very proud of all we accomplished together as a band. His loyalty, dedication, and commitment to HATE ETERNAL is something we’ll always be very grateful for and Jade will always be family.
“This has been in discussion for some time now and we all agreed that it was time for this to happen.
“We wish Jade nothing but the best with his future and thank him for all his hard work and tremendous contributions to HATE ETERNAL.”
HATE ETERNAL will close out the worldwide touring for its most recent album, “Phoenix Amongst The Ashes”, with a special performance on Saturday, October 26 as part of the Housecore Horror & Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Joining HATE ETERNAL on drums for this show will be Adam Jarvis (MISERY INDEX, PIG DESTROYER).
HATE ETERNAL is currently writing material for the follow-up to “Phoenix Amongst The Ashes”. Seven songs have been completed so far, with the band tentatively scheduled to begin recording in spring 2014.
Comments Rutan on the writing process: “JJ and I are super excited with the progress of the new material. We’ve been collaborating to make an album that pushes all the boundaries and dynamics yet remains true to our roots and legacy. We have been very critical with the new songs and really have honed in on crafting an album with many variances in tempo and mood, and songs that separate themselves from one another to give a unique entity to each composition. Our goal is to continue to expand the different facets of HATE ETERNAL and extreme metal. This album is going to be a monster!”
ANNIHILATOR Involved In Bus Crash
Reposted from Blabbermouth.net
ANNIHILATOR mainman/guitarist Jeff Waters has issued the following update from the band’s current European headlining tour:
“After the show in Madrid [Spain] last night, we left at night for Barcelona. Jasmina [Vrcko, Jeff‘s fiancée] and I were sleeping in the master bedroom in back if the bus. We were thrown on the floor, as a truck slammed into us from behind. The other guys were mostly sleeping, but were woken up with quite the impact. We (red car bus) were driving the speed limit for carrying a legal 3.5 ton trailer and, according to the Spanish police who shut the highway down, the driver of the truck that hit us was speeding and ‘distracted’; I would guess texting, as he was speeding at a high rate down a 3-lane highway in the slow lane, and tried to brake a second before impact…
“So it looked the entire police force was out! Very cool dudes and they helped us arrange tow trucks, checked for injuries with all vehicle occupants, escorted the bus to a truck stop when we finally untangled the trailer from the bus. Our bassist, Alberto, speaks Spanish and translated all night, then morning long.
“We were all very lucky we had a large trailer, stuffed with a lot of backline (stacks of Hughes & Kettner Coreblade speaker cabinets saved us!!)… They and ALL our gear took most of the impact… The police said we would have likely had fatalities, if that trailer and cabinets/contents had not been there… Jas and I would have been the first to go!!
“But enough drama! We are all OK.
“We had a killer show in Madrid last night.. Best show and fans on the tour… But sadly and obviously could not make Barcelona tonight. We are (safely and legally!) racing to Lyon, France now, where we will get a truck for the gear (gear in way from accident location).
That could be the only issue now is what gear/equipment is working and what is destroyed. But we will likely make it to Lyon and sort out what we can use there!!!
Thanks Madrid, sorry Barcelona, ‘F you’ to texting and driving (or whatever he was doing)…
“Oh, about the driver of the speeding truck that hit us: He survived, but if you saw his truck, you would not think it possible to survive.
“Wish us safe travels! We need them!!”
ANNIHILATOR‘s 14th studio album, “Feast”, was released on August 23 in Europe and August 27 in North America via UDR. The deluxe eco-book version features a bonus CD containing 15 of the best ANNIHILATOR songs re-recorded in 2012… a grand total of 24 songs in one package… with a 3D cover.
IMPENDING DOOM: ‘Death Will Reign’ Album Preview
Reposted from Blabbermouth.net
An audio preview of “Death Will Reign”, the new album from Southern California juggernauts IMPENDING DOOM, is available in the YouTube clip atthis location. Due on November 5 via eOne Music, the CD was recorded, produced and mixed by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (SUICIDE SILENCE, LAMB OF GOD).
“IMPENDING DOOM have never sounded uglier and more desperate than on ‘Death Will Reign’,” says Alternative Press.
IMPENDING DOOM has crafted a stunning, deliberate and unrelenting collection with a sense of purpose, drive and continuity. “Death Will Reign” is the culmination of all that has come before, mining the bleak darkness and “scare” factor of last year’s “Baptized in Filth” and the dynamic fury of “There Will Be Violence” and “The Serpent Servant”. All of those elements are injected with the return of the gritty rawness found within the unpolished grind of “Nailed. Dead. Risen”, IMPENDING DOOM‘s squealing cult-classic debut that introduced the world to their unique combination of reverent worship and sick gore-core, dubbed Goreship.
“We wanted this album to sound very natural and unpolished,” explains IMPENDING DOOM‘s longtime bassist David Sittig, a part of the lineup since before the first album’s release. “There’s no crazy digital stuff. There are no fake drums. We wanted it to have the feel of our first album with the songwriting from the last one. We’ve gotten better at song structures and so forth over the years, but we wanted to recapture that old-school vibe, too.”
IMPENDING DOOM‘s fourth full-length album, “Baptized In Filth”, sold 4,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 106 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on March 13, 2012, the CD was produced by Andreas Magnusson (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THE FAMINE) and was mixed by Machine, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, SUICIDE SILENCE and DEMON HUNTER, among others.
