The Moth Gatherer – The Earth is the Sky

Swedish atmospheric doom/sludge metal band The Moth Gatherer returns with their second opus, The Earth is the Sky, further exploring the sound created on their 2013 debut, A Braight Celestial Light, resulting in what could be one of my favourite records for 2015.

Skraeckoedlan – Sagor

Swedish stoner/doom metal band Skraeckoedlan returns this year with their second slab of psychedelia, Sagor, displaying their prowess not only as musicians, but songwriters as well. Fusing elements from stoner, sludge, doom with a tinge of psychedelia, Sagor is an effective beautiful, and enchanting record.

Black Trip – Shadowline

With their debut bearing such stark similarities to the first two Iron Maiden albums (which I am also a great fan of), finding out that Black Trip were releasing their sophomore album Shadowline got me even more excited than the new Maiden album. Can the band live up to the expectations that have been placed upon them with their stellar debut?

Night – Soldiers of Time

Swedish heavy metallers Night releases their sophomore full length, Soldiers of Time under Gaphals – the same label that brought us the excellent Nocturnalia and Oblivious. But can they live up to the hype that their labelmates, as well as compatriots such as Enforcer and Black Trip have built up?
