Iron Lamb: “Smile now, cry later”

And here’s our band of the month for January 2015, the might Iron Lamb. First catching my ears with their 2011 Pulverised Records debut, The Original Sin, these Swedes are back stronger, groovier and catchier than before with their sophomore full length album, Fool’s Gold. Along with new vocalist Bragman, the band brings us back to the good early days of bands like Motörhead with punk and heavy metal influences. There’s a reason for Fool’s Gold being our pick of January, so let’s find out what goes on behind the scenes with guitarist Johan.

Infernal Execrator – Ad Infinitum Satanic Adherent

After more than 9 years of split and EP releases, Infernal Execrator finally dropped their debut full length album early last year. With influences from Impiety, Surrender of Divinity, Deiphago et. al, one can be sure for a classic 90s war metal attack.

Monsterworks – The Existential Codex

Kiwi progressive metallers Monsterworks returns this year with their brand new full length, The Existential Codex. Along with being the first release of the year for them, they also display the continuous growth and evolution, and The Existential Codex is easily one of the weirdest, but personal favourite, release thus far from Monsterworks.

Albums of the Month – February 2015

If you thought January 2015 was good, then February was even better despite it being a shorter month. We see high profile releases from bands like Ensiferum, Carach Angren, Enforcer and Melechesh, along with the more underground spectrum of the genre such as Acherontas, Death Karma and many more.
