Reposted from Blabbermouth.net
A previously unreleased MESHUGGAH track, “Pitch Black”, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The song, which was recorded in July 2003 (around the time MESHUGGAH’s “I” EP was released) at Fear And Loathing studios in Stockholm, Sweden by MESHUGGAH guitarist Fredrik Thordendal, will be officially released tomorrow (Tuesday, February 5) via Scion Audio/Visual, (a.k.a. Scion A/V), the in-house record label and lifestyle marketing division of the Scion marque produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market. In addition to the “Pitch Black” title track, the EP will include a live recording of the “obZen” song “Dancers To A Discordant System”.
MESHUGGAH will embark on a North American headlining tour later this month with ANIMALS AS LEADERS as direct support and INTRONAUT opening each evening.
This continent-shifting, sonically devastating tour will launch in Orlando, Florida on February 11 and will run through March 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Commented MESHUGGAH guitarist Mårten Hagström: “Finally we’re getting our asses back over the pond to deliver a second helping of the Ophidian trek across North America. We are excited. We WILL see you there!”
MESHUGGAH’s latest album, “Koloss”, has sold more than 40,000 copies in the United States since its March 2012 release.
KREATOR, SODOM, DESTRUCTION, TANKARD: ‘The Big Teutonic 4’ 10-Inch Mini LP Available
Reposted from Blabbermouth.net
Germany’s Legacy magazine in December included an exclusive four-track compilation of “The Big Teutonic 4”. This unique CD in a slipcase presented the Teutonic thrash legends KREATOR, TANKARD, DESTRUCTION and SODOM performing cover versions of four metal classics. Now this terrific tribute is being released in the form of a 10-inch mini LP. It will be available in black as well as in red and yellow (the latter two exclusive to the Nuclear Blast mailorder) and will contain a different song by SODOM as compared to the compilation CD (“Ace Of Spades” instead of “Iron Fist”).
“The Big Teutonic 4” 10-inch mini LP track listing:
01. KREATOR – “The Number Of The Beast” (by IRON MAIDEN)
02. SODOM – “Ace Of Spades” (by MOTÖRHEAD)
01. DESTRUCTION – “The Hammer” (by MOTÖRHEAD)
02. TANKARD – “The Prisoner” (by IRON MAIDEN)
You can purchase a copy of the 10-inch mini LP at the Nuclear Blast web shop.
At the inaugural installment of the Beastival festival — set to take place from May 30 to June 1 in Geiselwind, Germany — “The Big Teutonic 4”, the legendary quartet of German thrash metal bands that shaped the European heavy metal scene like no other since the ’80s and established “thrash made in Germany” as a quality seal all around the world, will share the same stage on the same evening! Be there when KREATOR, SODOM, DESTRUCTION and TANKARD tear down the venue and thrash you into the ground!
The Beastival 2013 billing also includes such acts SABATON, WINTERSUN, KATAKLYSM, SATYRICON, U.D.O. and DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER.

In a recent interview with Greece’s Metal Kaoz, KREATOR frontman Mille Petrozza stated about the possibility of a full-fledged tour with SODOM and DESTRUCTION: “We have been talking about this all the time. We have been having this discussion since the last time we were in Greece along with SODOM and DESTRUCTION about getting that tour in the U.S. But this never happened and you wanna know why? … There are certain people who don’t want to tour. [DESTRUCTION bassist/vocalist] Schmier wants to tour, we want to tour but Tom [Angelripper] from SODOM does not. And, as you can understand, we can only do this tour with the three bands onboard because otherwise it would not be the same. So, without SODOM, this will never happen and I am really sorry to say this.”

The album was recorded/mixed in spring/summer 2012 by Garry Brents at GAB Recordings and Mike BBQ at Big Door Studios, and mastered by Jack Control (World Burns to Death, Severed Head of State) at Enormous Door in Summer 2012. The album artwork comes courtesy of Daniel Shaw. The album features Bryan Fajardo (Phobia, Noisear, Kill the Client, Gridlink) on drums, and is poised to be the most vicious, neck-snappingly infectious grind record of 2013. You’ve been warned!
Devious Persecution and Wholesale Slaughter is the veteran grindfreaks’ third full-length and fourteenth overall release since their 1999 inception. Their discography stretches to include two LPs (Pulverizing Lethal Force in 2007 and Crushing Fury of Bastardization in 2008), a 7” ep (Swarming Industrial Cancer, 2003), two split LPs (with Germany’s Bizarre X in 2005, and California’s In Disgust in 2010), and nine (!) split 7” eps with a dizzying array of international bands, including Unholy Grave, Cyness, and Massgrave)
Since they came thrashing and howling into life, PLF have wrought havoc across the globe, sullying the stage at Maryland Death Fest i(2009/2010), Bloodshed Festival in the Netherlands (2008/2011), Obscene Extreme in the Czech Republic (2006), UGZ Speed Trials (2008 /2010), Etengabeko Zarata Festival in Spain’s Basque Country (2008), Rites of Darkness (2011), and Short, Fast and Loud Zine’s 10 year Anniversary Festival (2011) amongst others, and playing many hundreds of shows in clubs, warehouses, squats, houses, basements, open air stadiums, ‘metal clubs’, bars, parking lots, fields, pool halls, and garages across North America and Europe.
Devious Persecution and Wholesale Slaughter will be available on CD and LP on February 8th. It can be purchased directly from Six Weeks Records (http://www.sixweeksrecords.com/) or from Independent Label Distribution (www.ildistro.com).
